This course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. To prepare participants to give care for potentially life-threatening emergencies in a delayed-help situation, the American Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid course covers the following:

  • Primary & secondary assessments
  • Head (Brain), neck and spinal injuries
  • Bone and joint injuries
  • Allergies and anaphylaxis
  • Burns
  • Wounds & wound infection
  • Hypothermia
  • Heat-related emergencies
  • Altitude-Related Illnesses
    …And more!

All WRFA students must have a current CPR card or will also include an Adult CPR/AED course on Saturday evening. All students that register for this course will be automatically enrolled in the CPR course.
