Recreational Guide Training
February 23 @ 8:00 am - April 28 @ 5:00 pm$250
The Recreational Guide course will be taught Feb. 23 and 24, and March 30-31.
The Recreational Guide Training takes place over two weekends and is designed for the experienced and aspiring outdoor professional. Each weekend will cover, in depth, a different section of the test. The first weekend will focus on the oral/skills portion of the exam. This section can be reviewed at the individual’s own pace and requires self-directed study that can be done over the course by the student. The next weekend covers the remaining portions of the exam, map and compass and catastrophic event. The final day will be used to provide the information on applying for the test, go over some strategies, and proctor a mock exam. This course will cover all of the materials that are expected to be on the Maine Recreational Guide exam but is not a guarantee that you will pass. Successful students will continually review the information provided in this course until the date of their exam for mastery of content knowledge. The official Inland Fisheries and Wildlife certifying exam is not included in this course. It is the responsibility of the student to pay for, and send in the application.
